Happenin’ Holiday Lights Contest! Have you got a little Clark W Griswold, Jr in you? Well, if you’ve ever had the urge to dress your house up in the style of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, this is the year to let your holiday lighting inhibitions run wild! Lakes Area Happenin’s, in cooperation with many of the advertisers you see in Happenin’s each month, are proud to announce the 1st Annual Happenin’ Holiday Lights Contest! With the Christmas season right around the corner, now is the time to start checking those old strings of lights and finding enough extension cords to achieve your lighting dreams. Prizes will be awarded for first place in four different categories; 1.) The most original display, 2.) The best religious display, 3.) The most impressive overall lighting display, and 4.) Reader’s Choice Award. Prize packages will be awarded to the winner’s of all four categories. Entries must be received no later that November 27th. All entries will then be listed in the December issue of Lakes Area Happenin’s so that all of our readers can have a chance to view and vote for their favorite! Official judging will take place on the evening of Saturday, December 11th by a panel of distinguished Happenin’s judges. Reader’s Choice votes must be in by December 20th.
